ISIS has officially declared they are behind a recent explosion attack in Kerman.
However, their track record includes false claims, such as the unverified shooting down of a US A-10 in Syria and a fabricated assassination at Incirlik Airbase.
While often perceived as claiming every major attack, ISIS's assertions are not always opportunistic, but sometimes strategic narratives.
ISIS has reportedly claimed responsibility for the Kerman explosions that resulted in over 200 deaths.
Further reports suggest at least one explosion may have been a suicide bomb.
Council outlined urgent actions post-Kerman attack:
"1. Intelligence agencies should quickly follow up... and identify and introduce its mercenary perpetrators."
2. Identify the role of corrupt minds... in supporting terrorists... in targeting innocent people worldwide."
3. Institutions should act to anticipate, follow up and deal decisively with the perpetrators and supporters of this crime."
