Taiwan has accused China of employing covert tactics, such as media and social media misinformation, and overt actions, including warplane displays and spy balloons over the strait's 'median line' that marks a boundary between the two territories.

"Taiwan is a part of China. The 'median line' absolutely does not exist."
Taiwan's presidential and parliamentary elections are on Jan. 13.
